Every Thursday evening, as part of the MCA’s late-night program, Sydney-siders and out-of-town visitors will be invited to soak up the setting sun and panoramic views of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge and join a free 45-minute, all levels Vinyasa yoga class hosted by lululemon athletica. This fun, lighthearted practice will be accessible to beginners while providing enough challenge for seasoned yogis.
After the class, participants will be able to linger on the Terrace, relax with live music from Sydney DJs and a bite to eat at the MCA Cafe, participate in hands-on creative workshops or head down to the MCA Galleries to immerse themselves in world-class contemporary art.
Exhibitions on display at that time will include MCA Collection (free), Aleks Danko: MY FELLOW AUS-TRA-ALIENS (free, until October 18), Primavera 2015: Young Australian Artists and Matthys Gerber (both free, 22 September – 6 December), Grayson Perry: My Pretty Little Art Career as part of the Sydney International Art Series (ticketed, 10 December 2015 – 1 May 2016), Being Tiwi and Mikala Dwyer: MCA Collection (both free, 21 December 2015 – 21 February 2016).
Museum of Contemporary Art Australia Director, Elizabeth Ann Macgregor OBE, said: “We’re always looking at ways to engage with new audiences and introduce them to contemporary art. And all of it is free – what’s not to like!”
