Namuru: Teachers Professional Development

CONTEMPORARY ABORIGINAL AND TORRES STRAIT ISLANDER ART PRACTICE

Namuru means ‘path’ or 'compass’ in the language of the Gadigal people, the traditional owners of the land and waters that the MCA is situated upon.
Namuru is a one-day program aimed at developing confidence in delivering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander content in the classroom and keeping up to date with current research and information.

Join us to talk about ways of responding to the works of Indigenous artists by drawing out students’ personal connections without appropriation. Early Learning, Primary and Secondary Teachers sessions are run annually.
