Vivid Ideas brings designers, performers and technologists to Sydney to share their ideas and connect with local creators.

In the second in a series of workshops which will aim to navigate the space where art, technology and commerce intersect, artist Nathaniel Scott will introduce participants to the art of Micro Animation.

Participants will be taken through the process of designing a unique character and then animating it and will come away from the workshop with a GIF fit for Tumblr.

This workshop is suitable for beginners however participants will be required to do some hand drawing. Art supplies included.

About the artist

With a love of animation and a chronically short attention span, Melbourne based animator Nathanael Scott has been obsessed with micro-animations for about the last five minutes now. As a contributor and curator of Loopdeloop – a monthly animation challenge and home to almost 1,000 short looping animations – he has been creating a completely new short-animation every month for the last two years.
