This session is part one of a series of three holiday sessions focusing on the frames, conceptual framework, artist practice and putting it all together.
Year 11 & 12 students are invited to join in a small-group holiday study session in preparation for the HSC Visual Arts Exam. Through group dialogue and the exchange of ideas, students will be guided through the inquiry and investigation of artworks currently on display at the MCA, helping build confidence to unpack unseen artworks in Section 1 of the NSW HSC exam paper.
Students can expect to build a tool-kit of strategies for unpacking and responding to contemporary artworks, expand their vocabulary and visual literacy skills, and explore the experience of the audience through direct engagement with artworks, including screen-based and installation works.
Works will be examined and discussed through the perspectives provided by the Visual Arts Frames and Conceptual Framework. Each session will have a theme, part one will focus on Frames and Conceptual Framework, part two will focus on artist practice and part three will focus on putting it all together within the exam structure.
