United Nations Mother Language Day

Be part of highlighting the rich diversity of languages that make up the MCA, and listen to voice recordings of Being Tiwi artists & MCA Staff in their mother language. Drop into the seminar room on level 2 on United Nations Mother Language Day to listen to the diversity of the MCA voices!

The United Nations Mother Language Day is a celebration of the worlds languages and is held every year on the 21 February. As a major cultural space dedicated to exhibiting the work of artists from diverse backgrounds the MCA acknowledges the importance of this day.

From the languages of this countries first peoples Kamilaroi and Tiwi to French, Hindi and Thai, the MCA is proud to share with visitors the variety of more than 20 languages of our staff and exhibiting artists.
