Sounds on the Terrace
– May 2016: Dominic Breen

Experience the magic of Circular Quay from the prime vantage point of the MCA Sculpture Terrace listening to the sounds of Dominic Breen over dinner and drinks from the MCA Cafe.

Dominic Breen is a singer-songwriter, poet and artist whose songs masterfully weave across themes of love, mentality and identity with both an observational and introspective lyricism. The Sydney based 23 year old first started writing songs during his early teens after he experienced a number of serious concussions and ultimately severe head trauma. In this social disconnection, strangely his writing flourished, moving into a poetic, storytelling lyricism initially likened to bush poets like Henry Lawson.

MCA Sculpture Terrace, Level 4

Since the indefinite separation of Breen’s first project 'The Moonlight Cowboys’, a psychedelic blend of rock, blues and jazz, Dominic Breen has started to draw a new following as he begins touring with his 5 piece live act, The Dopamine: a dynamic force of melody and harmony backed by a strong rhythm section. With a debut single on the way, Dominic Breen is the budding artist to keep your eyes and ears on.
