Performance

Michaela Davies
– Duty

EMS (or Electronic Muscle Stimulation) sees an electrical current pass through the muscles of a performer to produce sounds not otherwise achieved through conventional performance. By expanding the musical possibilities of both the musician and their instrument, Davies asks, is the performer playing, or being played?
