Dr John Carty
Dr John Carty is an anthropologist and curator who has worked extensively with Aboriginal artists throughout Central Australia, the Western Desert, Pilbara and Kimberley region. From 2007 to 2010 he was the principal researcher for the Canning Stock Route project, and was co-curator of the exhibition Yiwarra Kuju: The Canning Stock Route which was shown at the Australia Museum in 2012. In 2009 to 2010 he worked on a collaborative research project with Martu artist Yunkurra Billy Atkins and Martumili Artists, which lead to the exhibition and publication of Pretty One: the Art of Billy Atkins.
