MCA Galleries

Gain a different perspective on the work of Christian Capurro in Taking it all away, through talks and performances devised in collaboration with the artist, with a focus on the concept of ‘making by unmaking’.

Thursday 15 – Join MCA conservators in a 'dermal reading’ of Christian Capurro’s 'Another Misspent Portrait of Etienne de Silhouette’

Thursday 22 – When does a fashion magazine become an artwork? When you remove anything to do with fashion. But is it really that simple? In her talk Erasing Fashion: Reflections on Fashion Photography and Christian Capurro’s 'Another Misspent Portrait of Etienne de Silhouette’, Karen de Perthuis discusses fashion, capitalism, art and the utopian ideal of a world without fashion

Thursday 29 – An extended dermal reading of the ‘Another Misspent Portrait of Etienne de Silhouette’ magazine with curator Natasha Bullock.
In a late correction to the program, popular demand sees a second night when the erased and inscribed Vogue Hommes magazine will be available to be touched and held.
