Workshop

Lights On Later
– Pop Shrines

Work with artist Liam Benson to explore the ‘shrine’ through a contemporary perspective. Create your own holy (or not so holy) altar using popular culture and everyday life as inspiration.

Each week focus on a different process. Collaborate to construct a large scale shrine, create a hallowed metropolis of miniature forms and take home your own personal shrine.

Experiment with beading, crystals, electronic kitsch, collage, every-day materials, fabric (and sequins – of course!) to make your contemporary relique, icon or mini-monument.

All ages and experiences welcome. Materials provided.

Thursdays in February, 5.30–6.30pm
FREE, drop-in
Creative Studios, National Centre for Creative Learning
