Lights On Later
– Concrete Poetry

Be inspired by Aleks Danko: MY FELLOW AUS-TRA-ALIENS and let MCA Artist Educators lead you on a fascinating exploration of visual poetry from a unique perspective each week.

Week 1: Ideograms – explore how the form of words can convey meaning and construct an Ed Rushca-influenced ideogram drawing.

Week 2: Creative typography – explore the concrete poetry of the Italian Futurists and create a similar artwork.

Week 3: Chance Poems – assemble an artwork in response to the concrete poetry of the Dadaists.

Week 4: Contemporary Concrete Poetry – focus on writing, inspired by poets Ezra Pound & EE Cummings, and produce an original concrete poem.
