Artist bio

Brook Morgan is a contemporary Sydney based artist and educator whose practice is characterised by her use of naturally occurring materials, exploration of material language and each materials unique potential for transformation through her chosen techniques. Morgan’s work spans a range of media including, drawing, installation, assemblage and textiles and often employs time consuming and often repetitive, labour intensive techniques giving privilege to her materials and their construction.
Brook has had a fascination with the details found within nature since a young child. Collecting, sorting and arranging found materials, noting small differences and assembling them according them to their characteristics whilst creating elaborate stories to accompany her built miniature environments. This curiosity and pleasure has continued to inform Morgan’s practice as she continues to collect, sort and arrange the materials that surround her.
