Workshop

Emperor’s New Clothes
– (Cancelled)

What you see is not always what you get. Join MCA Artist Educator Will French, for a three-night program looking at conceptual and ephemeral art. Inspired by the exhibition Claire Healy & Sean Cordeiro, look at, discuss and make artwork that is short-lived, transitory and ideas-based.

Week 1
Tour Claire Healy & Sean Cordeiro, hear from curator Anna Davis. Discuss ideas around conceptual and ephemeral art.

Week 2
Review the context and history of conceptual artwork through MCA archives particularly looking at postal art. Some works are directives for performance, some works on paper, some are ideas written out to read and some altogether different.

Week 3
Product a work that responds or is influenced by the work you have seen.

$60/$55 MCA Members and Concessions
(three-week course, materials included, booking fees apply)
