BLACKTOWN NATIVE INSTITUTION ARTIST CAMPS
– Corroboree

POSTPONED

Due to the impact of recent heavy rain falls on the Blacktown Native Institution site, tomorrow’s (Saturday 27 June) Corroboree has been postponed. The current condition of the site makes it inaccessible to both vehicles and people on foot. This decision has been made with the safety of participants and public as our primary concern.

We look forward to letting you know the details of the rescheduled Corroboree and extend our heartfelt thanks to all the artists and community members who have worked so hard on the Blacktown Native Institution Project to date.


Come and participate in free family activities including storytelling, children’s workshops and live music. Feast with us on traditional food and BBQ .

See new site-responsive artworks by artists Darren Bell, Karla Dickens, Steven Russell, Kristine Stewart, and Leanne Tobin – including projected portraits, suspended eel traps, performance and pyrotechnic installation.

The corroboree will feature performances by pioneering hip-hop artist Brothablack, roots and blues singer Krista Pav, the Mount Druitt Indigenous Children’s Choir, and storyteller Chris Burke (Yarramundi Kids).

LOCATION & GETTING THERE

Corner Rooty Hill Road North and Richmond Road, Oakhurst NSW
Parking is available on-site with access via Richmond Road.
Bus 757 stops on Rooty Hill Rd North.
