Special Event

ARTBAR driven by Audi
– Curated by: Kate Scardifield

On April 29 artist Kate Scardifield will transform the Museum into a sparkling spectacle for ARTBAR. GOLDEN HOUR is that fleeting moment of time at dawn or dusk when the light is just perfect– but blink and you’ll miss all that glitters.

Re-visit the golden age for one night only with live art, roaming performance, special guest DJs, live music, fashion and an array of surprises to tantalise all the senses.

GOLDEN HOUR will include solid gold performances and works by Rochelle Haley, YEVU, Make or Break, a special live podcast by The Mitchen (Andrew Levins and ACME’s Mitch Orr), the Jingle Jangle DJs, Claudia Nicholson, Adriana Picker and Dr Cooper, Amrita Hepi and more to be announced.

Hearts and fools unite: it’s GOLD or bust.

Do you have the Midas touch?

About the curator

Kate Scardifield is an interdisciplinary artist living and working in Sydney. Her practice can be likened to a process of anatomical enquiry; mining history for systems and patterns that culminate in re-imaginings of the body, site and space. Kate’s works move between sculpture, installation, textiles, video and painting, often incorporating a repetition of iconography, and labour intensive techniques. Relationships between the spectacle, the macabre and the divine, in their broadest form, operate as cornerstones in her practice. Kate’s work has an intense focus on the materiality that she works with, and an interest in pushing the materials limitations.
