Special Event

ARTBAR
– Curated by Dara Gill

Do we even exist if we’re not online? What does the food of the future taste like? Did the sci-fi films of the 80s get it right? Answers to all these contemporary questions and more at MCA ARTBAR ‘Futures’ curated by Dara Gill.

Witness the MCA turn into a surreal futuristic environment where the weird and wacky collide with science and academia. Get your brain juices flowing, heart pumping and sci-fi goggles on as artists play with the idea of what is yet to come.

Explore the future of our digitally-prescribed era with;

  • A futuristic dance workshop with Kate McDonald
  • Michaela Gleave’s participatory survey-based installation on a tropical island
  • Eddie Sharp and Mark Pesce’s take on life in 2050

For a little extra ($10) see Light Show

Plus DJs, themed cocktails and loads more artist contributions to decorate your night. Art, but not as you know it.
