For artists
– All the Reality that is

Led by international artist Manfred Werder (Zurich, SUI), this project invites participants to explore the sound of public spaces in Sydney.

Aiming to trace a musical practice that would be capable of affirming all the reality that is, participants will work with Werder over 3 days in the creation of a performance.

Thursday 21 July, 6-8pm
Friday 22 July 6-8pm
Saturday 23 July 12-3pm
$40/$32 MCA Members and Concessions
Digital Studios, Level 3
Bookings Required

(this is a 3-day event- with different components on each day, leading to a performance at Saturday)

We recommend that participants bring a musical instrument/object, however, participant do not need to be musicians or musically inclined.

Manfred Werder
Composer, performer, lives in situ.

His performances, both indoors and outdoors, aim at letting appear the world’s natural abundance.
Recent scores feature sentences found from poetry and philosophy or words found from whatever impacts.
Earlier works include stück 1998, a 4000 page score whose nonrecurring and intermittent performative realization has been ongoing since December 1997.

“But one can imagine the concert – later on ? – as exclusively a workshop, from which nothing spills over – no dream, no imaginary, in short, no 'soul’ and where all the musical art is absorbed in a praxis with no remainder.”
Roland Barthes, MUSICA PRACTICA, 1970
