Special Event

SOLD OUT: ARTBAR
– Curated by Pip & Pop, Fri 25 Jul

Join the dots between Japanese art, music and culture at the sugar-coated MCA ARTBAR driven by Audi on Fri 25 Jul. From the dark digital ocean of Tabaimo: MEKURUMEKU to the kawaii fancies of Pip & Pop (Tanya Schultz), salivate as exhibitions, music, design and performances come together for one night only.

Fond of felines? Enjoy a cup of tea with a furry friend at the ARTBAR Cat Cafe, one of the first (or second) in Sydney. Cats courtesy of The Cat Protection Society of NSW.

Escape to another world with our own purikura (プリクラ or photo booth) to create your own Pip & Pop fairy tale, enhanced with all the trimmings: sugar, glitter, sweets, toy animals, plastic flowers and crystals.

Musical delights for your Friday night come in the form of Japanese punk and sweetened with sprinkle of girl power.

Includes: contributions from some of Pip & Pop’s most favourite Japanese artists including Nobuhiro Shimura, Yuko Kanatani, Tochka, Mikke Remikke and 7Nature Usagi.
