SARAH GOFFMAN

How would you describe your performance in Workout?

Seven oki-do breathing yoga sessions in one day, accompanied by music. Participants are welcome to take off their shoes and stretch out in the space.

In what ways is your performance a work out?

Each session is a work out, with gradual alterations and movement.

How do you envisage the audience engaging with your work? Is there audience participation?

I expect people will be able to take their place on a mat and either attempt to copy some of my movements or to stretch out and adopt their own poses.

How do you approach transforming the MCA’s new Level 1 North Gallery in one day?

Quite simply with a few videos, the main element will be the sound and the yoga mats.

Will you have an online presence allowing the audience outside the Museum to follow your performance?

No.

How can people find out more about you?

Sarah Goffman’s performance runs Wednesday 24 April 2013 from 10am to 5pm in the MCA’s Level 1 North Gallery.
