Blog – The MCA Restaurant opens

The Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA) is delighted to announce the opening of the MCA Restaurant on Wednesday 18 July 2012. The Restaurant offers customers a relaxed dining experience with waiter service and an exciting new menu. Tables can be booked directly through the Restaurant.

Located on the expansive new ground floor covered terrace, it offers all weather dining and panoramic views over Sydney Harbour.

Culinary Edge Founder and Manager Charles Wilkins said: “The restaurant showcases a relaxed dining vibe, honest cooking, affordable prices – and front row seats at Circular Quay.”

The seasonal menu spans the Mediterranean with classic French, Spanish & Italian influences.

Culinary Edge Chef and co-Owner Simon Fox said: “Our menus feature slow-cooked hearty dishes during winter, and fresh salads and seafood for summer.”

“I collaborated with Andrew Loke, the restaurant’s head chef, to create a menu which ranges from small plates (to share over a glass of wine before visiting the gallery) to more substantial shared dishes (for two people) including Bouillabaisse and Duck Cassoulet,” Fox says.

MCA Director Elizabeth Ann Macgregor said: “The opening of the MCA Restaurant completes the MCA experience. Visitors can now choose between two dining options in exceptional locations. I look forward to sampling dishes from Culinary Edge’s varied seasonal menus.”

The MCA Restaurant is open seven days a week from 9am to 5pm.
