Visit :: The Mondo, Penrith

The Mondo is the area located between the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre, Westfield Penrith and Penrith City Council. It is an area where young people gather and socialize on a Thursday night. In its early days this was an area highly populated by disengaged youths who continued to remain isolated and secluded from the rest of the community. This was until stakeholders from Westfield Penrith, Penrith City Council, The Joan and the local Police came together to work proactively to engage with the young people positively. We can now see how this program has progressed into a successful youth engagement program providing many with support, activities, opportunities and community cohesion.
