About the Bella Room
The Bella room, situated in the National Centre for Creative Learning is a dedicated, interactive space for students with specific learning needs to explore the work of contemporary artists. Each year, an artist will be commissioned to make an environment suitable for young people with specific needs.
The inaugural commission for the Bella Room has been undertaken by Melbourne-based artist Emily Floyd. The Garden (here small gestures make complex structures) has been developed through consultation with special needs educators, community groups and support agencies, with special consideration for students with visual-impairment or intellectual disability.
