The mother of all Genext events!

6-9pm 6 Dec 2015

Genext is an award-winning program offering Sydney teenagers the chance to explore and create with established artists and like-minded young people, after-hours at the MCA.

Genext returns in December for the biggest and boldest Genext yet!
Program includes:

  • Participatory experiences and performances developed by Artists
  • Exclusive after-hours access to MCA exhibition Primavera
  • Two stages for live music
  • An array of brilliant hands-on workshops and art-making activities curated and coordinated by the MCA Youth Committee

*PLUS snacks, drinks and prizes.

Genext is supervised by the MCA Audiences team and is strictly drug, cigarette and alcohol free.

Happy Birthday to us! With the support of The Balnaves Foundation, Genext has been offering exclusive MCA experiences to young people since 2005.


If you’re a young musician or performer aged 12–18, email links to your demos to for your opportunity to play to crowds at Genext.


The MCA is pleased to offer eligible organisations financial assistance towards the cost of transporting a group of young people to Genext events. Contact for information.
