About the Series

What is Genext? An award-winning program offering Sydney teenagers the chance to meet, explore and create with established artists and like-minded young people, after-hours at the MCA.

Genext will return to the MCA on 6 July 2014, offering exclusive after-hours access to the exhibitions Tabaimo: MEKURUMEKU
Program includes:

  • The Genext New Media Festival – with prizes awarded for the most creative submissions
  • Live music
  • An array of hands-on experiences and art-making activities designed and coordinated by the MCA Youth Committee

Submit your short films, animations, documentaries, photography and digital art into our New Media festival held 5 times a year as part of Genext. Fantastic prizes are awarded for the most creative submissions! Send your pieces to belinda.sculley@mca.com.au

If you’re a young musician or performer aged 12–18, email links to your demos to belinda.sculley@mca.com.au for your opportunity to play to crowds at Genext.

BUS SUBSIDY FOR GROUPS

The MCA is pleased to offer eligible organisations financial assistance towards the cost of transporting a group of young people to genext events. Contact belinda.sculley@mca.com.au for information.
