How would you describe your performance in Workout?

A collaborative 12-hour performance engaging MCA installation staff and MCA volunteers.

In what ways is your performance a work out?

It demands significant physical and mental focus from both performers and collaborators over its 12-hour duration. It also involves the physical transportation of over 20 cubic metres of materials to and from three mainland and island states.

How do you envisage the audience engaging with your work? Is there audience participation?

The audience always participates in all art events, whether its physically or mentally and emotionally. This performance will not demand physical participation from the audience but will encourage engagement with both the ideas that generate the event and its physical manifestation.

How do you approach transforming the MCA’s new Level 1 North Gallery in one day?

Over the 12-hour period, the space will contain both the appearance of the objects that over the last forty years have defined the memory body of the artist and gradually witness its eventual dissolution.

Will you have an online presence allowing the audience outside the Museum to follow your performance?

I wont personally but the MCA may opt to offer such a presence.

How can people find out more about you?

By googling my name.

Domenico de Clario’s performance runs Saturday 27 April 2013 from 7:40am to 6:26pm in the MCA’s Level 1 North Gallery.
