Young Creatives

“I needed to somehow get more into the art world but I didn’t know how to do it…. and then I found out about Genext”

- Jess, Youth Committee & Young Guide

MCA’s Young Creatives programs are developed in collaboration with a volunteer team of 13 – 18yr olds, recruited yearly; the MCA Youth Committee.
Through the events, talks, workshops and unique opportunities we have on offer, our team aims to provide you with the platform to create, experiment and challenge your professional and creative skills.
MCA invites you to join our community, connect with like-minded people and work alongside artists and other arts professionals.
If art, performance, music and culture are important to you, then you’ve come to the right place.

Sunday Life

Build up work for your portfolio or VAPD, get ideas for your BOW or simply develop your skills as an artist with the help of artists Will French and Cindy Chen at our monthly Life-Drawing class for 14 – 19yr olds.

“I absolutely loved it, the teacher was amazing and really helped me actually get the structure and form of the model”

- Imogen, Sunday Life student.

Genext offers you the space and the freedom to engage and experiment with creativity, independent of the expectations of teachers or parents, after-hours at the MCA.
People from all over Sydney come along to the event which takes place several times a year and features a festival-like line up of live music, performance, art-making and interactive experiences as well as exclusive access to MCA exhibitions.
