Bella Plus

Explore contemporary art and develop new creative skills through art-making experiences in this flexible and FREE program for adults with specific needs.

Look, listen, share and create! The Bella Plus Program is for adults with specific needs including physical, intellectual, behavioural or sensory disability to engage with contemporary art in fun and social ways and develop creative expression through art-making experiences.

Investigate contemporary artworks in a Gallery Exploration of current exhibitions, and experiment with art-making processes in a practical session in the Creative Studios located in the National Centre for Creative Learning.

Explore the multi-sensory Bella Room, an interactive artwork commissioned to engage and inspire people with specific needs to connect with the work of contemporary artists through sensory experiences.

Each program is led by MCA Artist Educators and is individually tailored and responsive to the specific needs, interests and abilities of the adults participating.

The MCA Bella Program was established in 1993 through the generosity of MCA patrons, Dr Edward Jackson AM and Mrs Cynthia Jackson AM, and the Jackson family, in memory of their late daughter and sister Belinda.
