JEFF WALL Photographs

– When

1 May-28 July 2013

– Admission

JEFF WALL Photographs has now finished.

Don’t miss this major exhibition of the work of Canadian photographer Jeff Wall featuring 27 stunning works.

See why Wall is recognised as one of the most intriguing and influential artists working today. This overview of his career covers three decades of his artistic and photographic innovation and includes his large-scale works – epic and luminous colour photographs presented as transparencies in light boxes; black and white prints; more recent colour prints; and intimate small-scale photographic observations.

Enjoy this rare opportunity to see many of his most dazzling and recognised photographs, images that have changed the trajectories for photography in our time, including The Destroyed Room (1978); A sudden gust of wind (after Hokasai) (1993); After ‘Invisible Man’ by Ralph Ellison, the Prologue (1999-2000); and recent works such as Knife throw (2008); and Boy falls from tree (2010).

Explore the evolution of cinematic, documentary and ‘near documentary’ photography in Wall’s work and the significance of this modern storyteller’s contribution to contemporary art.

JEFF WALL Photographs is an exhibition organised by the Art Gallery of Western Australia in association with the MCA.
