– String Stories

Digital Studios, National Centre for Creative Learning

Uncover amazing stories woven into the fabric of the exhibition string theory: Focus on contemporary Australian art to gather inspiration for your own fibrous art works. In this all day workshop artist educator Cara MacLeod will introduce participants to a variety of weaving techniques and lead a scavenger hunt in and around the MCA to gather materials to create an original woven sculpture. Learn how to document your work with digital cameras and then rework your images using basic photo editing software. Choose your best image and transfer it onto a calico bag using our brand new thermal printing press. Price includes all materials, calico bag and UBS stick to store all your treasures.
