Discover the growing phenomenon of zines at this masterclass. Derived from the word magazine, zines are small circulation, non-commercial publications that are printed by their creators on a topic of their choice.
This session will equip you with everything you need to know in order to create your own zine, from themes and content, through to design,
manufacture and distribution. Learn from artists and case studies, as
professional ‘zinesters’ share their experience.
Speakers include: Glenn Barkley; Keg de Souza from Squatspace; Penny Modra and Stuart Geddes from Is Not magazine; academic Anna Poletti; Luke Sinclair from Sticky Institute; Raquel Ormella and
Regina Walter from the Flaps project; and the indomitable Miss Helen.
The session is suitable for first-time as well as experienced zinesters and participants are encouraged to make their own zine to bring along
to the MCA Zine Fair on 25 May.
