KIENHOLZ

16 December 2005 - 26 February 2006

Edward Kienholz and Nancy Reddin Kienholz are two artists who together produced an extraordinary body of work since they began their collaboration in 1974. The Museum of Contemporary Art is proud to present a major exhibition of more than seventy sculptures, drawings and tableaux. Their impressive body of work is direct, powerful and uncompromising, dealing with such themes of power, politics and money, inequality, war, prostitution and child abuse. They have engaged in a searing critique of society which is as relevant and potent today as it was when their collaboration began over thirty years ago.

This exhibition draws on work from 1963 to 2004, beginning with a selection of Ed Kienholz's works from the 60s, works made in conjunction with Nancy since 1972 until his death in 1994 and later works by Nancy.
