MCA's Augmented Reality App

MCA AR

MCA AR is the augmented reality partner to the MCA’s printed publication Site. Site is an interpretation of the archaeological remains beneath the new MCA. It is an informative, richly illustrated companion guide, packed with archival material, historical images, and evocative essays commissioned from a range of writers.

MCA AR uses augmented reality to bring these stories to life, you can…

  • See the MCA take shape (page 211)
  • Watch Brook Andrew’s Warrang being installed (page 193)
  • Hear Bennelong’s song, recreated from a score from 1811 (page 99)
  • See the new MCA building in 3D (pages 214 & 217)

Discover a new way to experience the Museum, by holding your device over the images in the pages of the publication.

Buy Site from the online MCA Store

Download from iTunes App Store for iPhone or iPad

Download from Google Play Store for Android

The MCA used the MCA AR app for two other augmented reality projects, with The Sunday Telegraph and JC Decaux, to help celebrate the reopening of the Museum.
